Welcome to Henderson Intermediate School.  As usual the year is very busy and our Winter Sports have just started.  A large number of our students and staff are involved in sporting activities.  A school production will take place in Term Three.  Our school roll has risen quite dramatically this year and we will have to look at increasing our number of   classrooms next year.

We want our families to be more involved in our school and to this effect we are creating a family room for parents and families.

Our priority goal is to ensure that every student improves their academic achievement.  To this effect we have a staff development plan for the improvement of teaching and learning in the area of Reading this year. 

A group of student travel to China this month.  They have been financed by the Confusius Institute and will spend ten days travelling from Shanghai to Beijing.  Each day they will have lessons in the Mandarin Language.

ü         We offer all students a broad-based education incorporating as many opportunities as we can.  Our curriculum is right up to date and has ongoing revision.  We are meeting and achieving above the expected requirements of students through an integrated teaching approach so that we can achieve individual learning outcomes that are positive and meaningful to each student. 

 We want lifelong learners and we are always preparing students for their secondary education.  We are proud of our school and with the many comments from parents saying their children’s environment here is “a safe, caring and happy environment that promotes confidence in their child”.
