Design Tech - Term 1

​

Did you know that you can’t fold a piece of paper in

half more than seven times?
Students in Design Technology will be investigating the

world of Paper Engineering this year. Starting out we 

are exploring various techniques and mechanisms in

pop-up books.
Students will be creating their own presentation using

the skills they acquire. We will have stories literally

leaping off the page!
Students will then create paper automata, a type of

paper-based machine, as well as various design

challenges involving this wonderfully versatile material.

Now go try to fold a piece of paper more than seven

times and let me know how you went.
