The first New Zealand Confucius Classroom was launched at Henderson Intermediate School on 2 June 2010.

Mandarin Language Assistants, young graduates from Fudan University, deliver weekly Mandarin lessons  to classes and organise cultural activities within the school.

Students are also offered the opportunity to travel to China for a 12 day language and cultural experience.
