Science 2019

Science at Henderson Intermediate School is taught by Mrs Stacey Dawson, our specialist Science teacher. This year, we are focusing on communicating our understanding of the Living World and the Physical World. Students will participate in a range of practical activities and experiments to gain further understanding of life processes, cells, the human body, and motion and forces. Some of these include using microscopes to observe cells, observing a heart and lung dissection and playing ping pong soccer to investigate the effect of forces on objects. We also make and launch water bottle rockets if time permits.

We also have a Science extension group - “The Mad Scientists” who are involved in the Science Badge scheme and the NIWA Auckland Science Fair.
